The hair, make up, costume and mannerisms that an actor uses in a particular role can make them appear quite different than they might be normally (something especially true of Johnny Depp). I think, if drawing them in character, it's important to capture the specifics of that character.
The exaggeration choices you have used may not work if it were Johnny as himself, but it definitely works for Johnny as Jack Sparrow.
